About this tour

Giants Causeway Tour

Departing EVERYDAY from Belfast

The Giant’s Causeway was formed 50 million years ago, yet still captures the imagination of people around the world today. Made up of over 40,000 basalt columns, the Causeway truly is a sight to behold and continues to be the only UNESCO heritage site in Ireland. Having inspired storytellers of all kinds over the years, our Giant’s Causeway Tour will talk you through the richly detailed Irish legend surrounding the iconic pillars, as well as showing off even more of what the Causeway Coast has to offer.

Unlike other Belfast tours taking visitors to the Giant’s Causeway, ours stops at the Causeway first instead of last. This way, you will be able to experience and photograph this majestic natural wonder before it becomes too crowded.

As well as the Causeway itself, our tour features many incredible coastal, natural and manmade marvels, including the scenic Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge and rugged Dunluce Castle. Join us on the Giant’s Causeway Tour luxury cabs and explore some of the most exceptional locations that Northern Ireland has to offer.

Whether you’re looking to tour with a big group of friends or prefer a more personal and private touch, our expert tour guides will be happy to help. Book your place today and experience a completely unique natural phenomenon – we promise you’ll remember it for years to come.

Our award-winning tour stops at the world famous Giant’s Causeway, giving passengers the opportunity to enjoy this UNESCO World Heritage Site, and 8th Wonder of the World as it’s famously known. Famous for its folklore tales involving the Irish Giant, Finn McCool and large basalt columns protruding from the sea, the mystery and awe of the Giant’s Causeway is one to behold.

Other locations visited include the world famous Dark Hedges (King’s Road) and Ballintoy Harbour (Iron Islands), both made extra famous from their frequent appearances in HBO’s Game of Thrones. Passengers on this Black Taxi Cab Tour will also visit Dunluce Castle, Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge and the world famous Bushmills Whiskey Distillery. This is the pinnacle tour when visiting Northern Ireland, and one that is definite to impress and create long-lasting memories and admiration.

Itinerary

Suspended almost 100 ft (30m) above sea level, Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge was first erected by salmon fishermen in 1755. Connected to the cliffs by a rope bridge across the Atlantic Ocean, Carrick-a-Rede Island (home to a single building – a fisherman’s cottage) is the final destination.

*Additional Admission Fee: £6 Per Person. You need to prebook direct with Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge.

Ballintoy Harbour is a small fishing harbour at the end of a very small, steep road, which passes the entrance to Larrybane and Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge. The harbour was used as the scene of The Iron Islands in HBO’s Game of Thrones.

Follow in the footsteps of giants and hear the marvellous tale of Finn McCool. Declared a UNESCO Heritage Site, the causeway was formed 60 million years ago by volcanic eruptions. The iconic, basalt columns, along with the coastal views, will mesmerise and inspire.

Game of Thrones fans will recognise this 16th century castle as the House of Greyjoy. The castle has its own ‘real life’ drama, including the legend of a banshee and how the kitchen (including the kitchen staff) fell into the sea on a dark and stormy evening.

*Additional Admission Fee:
Adults £5.50 Children £3.50

This is Ireland’s oldest working distillery and home, of course, of the famous Bushmills Irish Whiskey. Their original permission to distil whiskey was signed by King James I in 1609. They have been distilling on this site ever since.

*Additional Admission Fee:
Adults £9 Children £5

The Dark Hedges is one of the most iconic scenes in Game of Thrones. You will instantly recognise it as ‘The Kings Road’. This unique avenue of Beech trees was originally planted to serve as an impressive entrance to Georgian Mansion, Gracehill House.
